I adopted a 1 year old dog about a year ago. I have 2 cats who grew up with dogs and dogs like. When my dog first arrived, the early days it was submitted - be in a new surrounding - but then wanted to play rough with cats ... not too good with them.
Cats and pursues enforcement when trying to keep everyone in the same room together while watching TV, etc. I have been kept separate baby otter (the dog in the kitchen and the cats in the family room) and not let the dog unless the cats outside. The dog ends up spending too much time in the confines of cooking with this method.
