Without natural affection and Covenant Breakers â € "Rom. 1:31
Most of us prefer a version of the Bible today is a little more a day in the language of the original old 1901 American Standard Version or King James Version of the Bible which makes it a little easier to read and understand. However, in some passages scattered about the Bible, including the new literal translations like the ESV, NIV, and the RV, all translations excellent when taken as a whole, have led us astray with the translation slightly lower in an attempt to make reading easier for us.
An example is found in Rome. 1:31.  In Romans 1 Paul midway through the chapter starts talking about the ungodliness and unrighteousness of men (v. 18) and then in the last verse lists a number of sin in which mankind had fallen. Verse 31 is part of the list and reads the New King James version, â € œundiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, € unmerciful.â
However, reading the same verse from the King James version, and reads as follows: â € œWithout understanding, covenantbreakers, without love, unforgiving, unmerciful.â € Â The ASV, 1901 reads as well as the RV, except that it omits the word â € € œimplacable.â
Here is a case in which both of these ancient translations are more accurate than any of the newer, more precise in exactly the meaning of the original Greek word used (You can do your own research). Â
For violators of the Covenant The ESV is unfaithful, NAS and KJV have untrustworthy. These words are sufficiently close as you can see when translators are today comes from lost, but still in my mind the exact intent of the Original. The original is not talking about general lack of credibility, but lack of credibility in being specific to a switch has made a pact with another.Â
Hear the words of Malachi 2:13-16 and for that I will use the RV simply because it is read and even easier accurate. ⠀ œAnd this is the second thing to do: to cover the altar of Jehovah with tears, with weeping and crying, so he does not consider the offer of more, or receive with the goodwill of its hands. However, you say, â € ~ For what reason? â € ™  For the Lord hath been witness between thee and the wife of your youth, with which they arose, however, is his partner and his wife covenant. But do not make them one, with a remnant of the Spirit? And why? He seeks a godly offspring. Therefore, pay attention to their spirit, and let none deal treacherously with the wife of his â € ~ Because youth. the Lord God of Israel says he hates divorce because it covers Oneâ € ™ s garment with violence, â € ™ says the Lord of hosts. ⠀ ~ Therefore, pay attention to your spirit, which do not address treacherously.â € ™ â €
When a man and a married woman to make a solemn covenant with one another and God. To break that covenant would be exactly what the Greek word used in Rome. 1:31 is talking about. But there more. How many times in reading the Old Testament is run through the word covenant in connection with the covenants God made with his people and they with him?  How many people break their covenants?
I did a quick search for e-Sword in the RV to match the word covenant in the New Testament and the word appeared 31 times in 28 total verses. New Testament is sometimes called the New Covenant (which appears as that on the first page of the copy I have of the original American Standard Version of 1901).
As Christians, we have entered a covenant relationship with God. When Jesus died on the cross and we come to accept as Lord, Savior and King of our lives by obeying the gospel that we have entered a covenant relationship with him. Remember his words, ⠀ "This is My blood of the covenant which is shed for many for the remission of sins.⠀ (Matthew 26:28 KJV)
Paul spoke of himself and his cronies as â € œministers of the new covenant.â € (1 Cor. 3:6 KJV)  ⠀ œJesus has become a guarantee of a better covenant € (Heb. RV 722) said that the Hebrew writer. is said to be a â € € œbetter covenant that he was under the law of Moses with the best promises. (Hebrews 8:6)  to break the treaty if the husband and wife or a Christian and God is a serious matter.
â € œOf is much worse punishment, do you think, is that deserve to be trampled under foot the Son of God, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified common thing € |, â € says writer of Hebrews (Hebrews 10:29 KJV). A We should be as good as our word and if we have to repent and become that good. easy to break this covenant we have today not going to get the Covenant with God if we are breaking it with your wife or husband or God.Â
The other phrase you want to talk about Rom. 1:31 are the words, â € natural œwithout  € affection.â The ESV translates the Greek word, the word â € œheartless, â € â NAS has œunloving €, â € and the RV also uses the word â € œunloving.â €  As I said before, if you do your homework you will find the old King James Version is correct about the exact meaning of the Greek. A person can be cruel and loveless in general, and yet not â € œwithout natural affection.â € Â
Vinea € ™ s, â € Oean Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words, â € Standard Bible scholars working check periodically to see what the original Greek word behind the English says it means, â € œsignifies without natural affection € | love of relatives, especially parents of children and children for  € parents.â Greek is the word â € € œastorgos.â
An example of natural affection is in the story of two women (prostitutes) live together while giving birth to children of 3 days Apart. The woman lying to his son was killed overnight by accident. then was asked the other woman € ™ s son as his own. The issue was brought before the king Solomon listened to two women who claim the child as their own. In their wisdom of King Solomon suggested that the child died by the sword and the two women who received half know the true mother would give up a child to have their lives affected natural spared. led to this great result with the real mother begging for the child's life, willing to give the other woman to save her life.es â € OEO my lord, give her the living child, not kill him! â € (1 Kings 3:26 KJV)
What is natural affection, if not God-given, natural, nature?  It's hard for most of us understand how this can be and yet Paul says that some have sin in this life that lack this affection. Writing Romans 1 comes with a long list of many sins about which says closure, "that those who practice such things are worthy of death." (Romans 1:32 NIV) We read in the Old Testament some who give their babies sacrifices. burned in 2 Kings 17 we read of the sins that caused God to allow Israel to carry captivity. One of these sins is that "they have caused their sons and daughters to go through the fire. "(2 Kings 17:17 KJV) This was a sin associated with the worship of idols.
Manasseh, king of Judah was guilty of the same thing, â € œhe caused their children to pass through the fire in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom.â € (2 Chron. 33:6 KJV) is a God in the book of Jeremiah said, â € œAnd they have built the high places of Tophet, which is located in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and daughters in the fire, which I commanded them not, neither came in my heart.â € (Jeremiah 7:31 KJV)
This proves to me at least two things. (1) The depth and degree to which men can sink when are involved with the false doctrine. radical Islam comes to mind, where men can crack manâ ™ € s throat with a knife while he is living, burning of Christians in the game, to feed the lions, etc. A (2) The lack of affection of a father or a mother to her children.
However, can turn around: well, children from parents. Approximately every Bible reader is familiar with the intent of Davida € ™ s son Absalom to overthrow him. One can read about € ™ s home Absalom revolt in 2 Sam. 15 and it appears that David was Absalom would put to death if he had the opportunity and could capture him.
Many years later, Jesus spoke of a time not very far when he said that, â € œbrother betray brother to death, and the father of her child, and children shall rise up against parents and have them put to death.â € (Mark 13:12 KJV) Sometimes you read or hear on the news of abusing children aged parents. fact, Jesus spoke of this same, but with little physical abuse in Matthew. 15.A He accused the scribes and Pharisees did not honor their parents, not willing to help them (Matthew 15:1-6).
Yes, all these are extreme cases but if men can fall into the depths of sin to the extent they are willing to do these things, then certainly there is no such thing as lack of affection natural that nobody can deny. The lack of natural affection may manifest itself in many ways.Â, but either way it manifests the sin of the heart remains same. The sin of the lack of natural affection is simply not the sin of loving.Â
â € œFor this is the message you heard from the beginning, that we love one another.â € (1 John 3:11 KJV) Â â € œHe who does not love his brother abides in death.â € (1 John 3:14 KJV) Â One would do well to read the book of 1 John where the word love is used 36 times in the New King James Version.
What is the lesson for you and me?  If we lack natural affection, not something that we are unable to do anything about. All sin begins in the heart unless you are talking about the sins of ignorance. If the Bible teaches anything at all it teaches that man and his heart may be changed. Saul had a hand in seeing Christians sentenced to death (Acts 26:10), but God and His word changed it paul.oer the apostle Paul said that there was no reason why ⠀ "which could be an example.
I use the New Living Translation not here, I believe it is the most accurate translation of the passage, but because I think as a comment that has hit the nail on the head of the teaches. verse that I refer to 1 Tim. 1:16, where Paul says, â € œBut God had mercy on me, that Christ Jesus could use me as a first example of his great patience with even worse sinners. Then others will realize that, too, can believe in him and receive eternal life.es € (NLT)
It's not a matter of saying I was just born without it, without natural affection, what can I do? We are not a what we are because of the attitudes that we developed over Saul was time. love tore apart families that take a mother, father, son or daughter in jail and possibly seeing them condemned to death depending on the case. Still became a changed man.
The apostle John came to a point where he had no desire have called fire from heaven to consume those who refused (Luke 9:54), but given his life became known to us today as the apostle of love.
The 3,000 become the day of Pentecost, which called for the Son of God to be sentenced to death had changed their hearts of hatred and murder to love and compassion. Christ can change us. all comes down to a matter of our wills. Do we want to be known as the man or woman who lacked natural affection or man or woman who truly loved his family deeply?  It is a matter of personal choice, as well as natural affection is.a salvation to salvation is as much as the lack it goes with the sentence.
Love is a choice. I can not emphasize that love much. also an option and remember we are talking here about affection. natural When you begin to love rather than hate life is much happier. Where to start?  It starts from within, in their starting heart. will. with God can change your heart, your life, but you have to want first. Whenever you start searching and when applying that are (Matt. 7:8).
